RESEARCH AND PLANNING: LOCATION

We selected these two different kinds of locations to act as the project foundation. The first was a modern, newly developed city, reflecting a contemporary, fast-paced lifestyle. Indeed, another location, Androon Pindi (Old Rawalpindi), was chosen to capture the essence of rich Punjabi tradition. Therefore, this contrast helped us further show, on the outskirts of visuals, the theme of self-discovery in Challa.

The scenario with the father shouting at his son was shot at Abiyha's house, adding a personal and realistic touch to the story. The overall experience was enjoyable, especially because Imaan and I had a chance to explore Androon PIndi for the first time. Strolling around the area with narrow streets, historical buildings, and lively bazaars deepened our respect for its cultural heritage and hence made the entire filming process very rewarding.
